Event Description

The DAWN Winter School is a week of lectures and hands-on tutorials for students who just started (or are about to enroll) a PhD programme in Astrophysics. This discipline requires a large amount of practical knowledge and soft skills in order to analyse telescope data, interpret the output from computer simulations, write compelling papers and proposals. During the DAWN Winter School these "off-the-textbook" topics will be adressed in a structured way to make the students' learning curve less steep.

The event is organized by the Cosmic DAWN Center in Copenhagen, from February 7th to 11th, 2022. It is not possible to participate in person anymore, due to the pandemic situation. Virtual participation will be possible via Zoom, without limitation of slots. The present page only hosts the payment system: for all the information please visit the official website.

Registration instructions


Step 1: Registration Ticket

Select one of the two Tickets in the Registartion menu on the right. Either Ticket includes a basic registration fee, that is 

• 8.00 EUR to attend the full week, including lectures on scientific topics (7-9/02/2022) and the part dedicated to soft skills and career development (10-11/02/2022)
• 3.50 EUR to attend only the part dedicated to soft skills and career development (10-11/02/2022)

The latter is intended for students coming from other fields of research, who are nonetheless interested in hearing about how to write grant applications, how to manage stress and conflicts in the office, how to implement Open Science principles in their work, etc.  If you are based in Denmark, you shall select the (VAT free) fee for Danish students and "Internal invoicing" payment method if you are affiliated to University of Copenhagen.

The basic registration fee gives access to the Zoom platform and covers some of the organizational costs. 

Step 2: confirm on-line participation

After selecting the Ticket, a section for Additional Services will appear. From the drop-down menu you can only choose on-line participation. Select the item (for free) and proceed with your registration.
